Jose Nicot is an Associate Director of TranSpend, Inc. Jose has built a solid career with over 20+ years experience as a management and procurement executive within the highest levels of New York City and New York State government. He has worked extensively within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, affordable / special needs housing and wholesale food industries. As a successful entrepreneur and business executive, he brings content knowledge and a contact base that is invaluable.
Prior to joining TranSpend, Jose served as President of SERVISA Las Americas, the first wholesale buying cooperative dedicated to supplying the fresh produce needs of the $2 billion+ Hispanic grocery market in the New York Metro Area. Jose led the effort to attract investors and leading industry firms to serve this burgeoning market. He succeeded in creating an entity that will deliver savings worth over $10 million to participating firms over the next several years.
Prior to founding SERVISA, Jose served as Chief of Staff to the Hon. Efrain Gonzalez Jr. (NYS Senate – 31st District). Jose managed all of the Senator’s legislative and economic development initiatives, including the investment of over $10 million in state and federal funds towards $100 million of new successful commercial real estate development in the Bronx. Jose also held senior level management positions at the NYC Housing Authority and NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, where he administered over $150 million of capital construction and human services spending and achieved cost savings of over 20% per annum.
Jose also served as Associate Chief of Staff to the Hon. Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mayor of the City of New York. In this capacity, he worked with Deputy Mayor for Operations, Randy Mastro and Deputy Mayor for Education and Human Services, Ninfa Segarra to oversee implementation of Mayoral initiatives in Education, Human Services, Housing, and Disaster Relief Operations, representing 35% of the City’s overall $40 billion + annual budget. Jose holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton University.
